I needed you to calm down now

“Everybody, okay, it’s be.. it’s been a great evening but I needed you to calm down now.”

Would you correct my dictation? And I want to add a question. Is the word, calm, has the sound of [?] just as [?] in ‘part [p?:t]’ or something else?

Top answer

“Everybody, okay, it’s been ... :t]’ or something else? Yes.

This question has been a long question by myself, for I haven’t had any real contact with natives before coming across this website. I thank you for your guide-light into my sound darkness.
