In recent years, there has been a dramatical increasing in the number of vehicles that has caused traffic jams and high levels of air pollution, especially in major cities. Thus, many people suppose that increasing the cost of petrol is a way to address this problem. However, in my opinion, I believe that using other sustainable resourses of energy will help to deal with issues.

On the one hand, increasing petrol's price will bring some drawbacks. Firstly, people will continue using it because there are no other suited options available to run their vehicles. Thus, there are not much change in solving our problems. Secondly, due to the high cost of petrol, the price of goods may increase rapidly because of an increase in tranportation costs, which leads to negative impacts on economy. For example, when you shopping online, you might pay more money since the cost of shipping.

On the other hand, if more eco-friendly energy such as solar, wind and hydropower are used to run vehicles and factories, there will reduce the large amount of emission to the environment. What is more, the government should improve publis tranport systems to encourage people to commute by bus or underground. Each individual also should have awareness of the effects of pollution problems. For instance, citizens can ride bicycle to work of take the bus to reduce the number of vehicles on the peak hour.

In conclusion, increasing the price of petrol is not the best way to tackle the growing traffic and air pollution. Instead, we can try to use other renewable sources of energy in the transportation systems which can bringdown traffic and pollution problems.
