Can we answer this question in this way below?

How much weight does he have to lose?

---- It's about five or six kilograms.

In this case, we are supposed to answer " He has to lose about five
or six kilograms." I think.

You will hear this is a normal conversation:
A: Bob's gone on the Atkins diet. His doctor told him to stop smoking and lose weight.
B: Oh, really? How much weight does he have to lose?
A: About five or 6 kilograms.
B: ...

A would not repeat "He has to lose...". He would just answer with the noun phrase "about 5-6 kilos"
