but i do not knwo how to start with it.
If not reading the whole book, i cannot write a good one.

The first paragraph of your essay is important; tells the teacher that you understand the question. It is a summary or synopsis of your whole essay. I haven’t read a Star Called Henry but I will use the net to search for information.

How does Chapter 4 of A Star Called Henry further your understanding of Henry and his situation [in Ireland]? Let’s pretend that chapter 4is the part in the novel where his father has abandoned the growing family, Henry is on his own, running wild in the streets, thieving to stay alive. Think about Henry’s circumstances in life. What are his chances for living a happy successful life? Does his family, his environment in Ireland or something in his own personality cause his problems? Well, he’s only 9 years old. The problems are probably caused by society. OK, let’s consider the way that Henry’s life changes through the novel. By the time he is 14, Henry has become a soldier in the new Irish Republican Army and in one long and harrowing chapter, we view the events of the Easter Rising of 1916 from his position in the thick of it. It's not a pretty sight by any means, as the populace is divided in its support and various factions Within the Republican Army threaten to splinter and annihilate one another before the British even get there. When the shooting starts, Henry aims not at the British but at the store windows across the street. "I shot and killed all that I had been denied, all the commerce and snobbery that had been mocking me and other hundreds of thousands behind glass and locks, all the injustice, unfairness and shoes. Notice this one thing. Although Henry gets caught up in the spirit of his times, he is very similar to boys his own age but he is different too. Rather than shoot at soldiers, he shoots shop windows. He is aiming at the social cause of his misery and the unhappiness of most boys his age. Henry shows that he has insight into his own situation.

Hello I have been looking every where but I do not know how to ask my own question, so I am doing it this way, I really hope someone can please help me!! I have a question I am trying to write an essay about The Star Called Henry it is close to this question but mine is: Henry Sr.'s coat, the wooden leg, and water, what do these symbols represent? How so they offer us a more complete picture of Henry and/or Dublin? Please examine at least one of these symbols????? Thats the question but I am finding it hard to find the answers!!!
