I need some grammatical correction!

Hello teachers!I've got an introduction of my final essay here.Please give me some advice of errors and even better expressions!Thanks in advance!  This final course essay is a reflection paper after taking 'Communicative Language Teaching' course in the second semester of 2008. Experiencing writing on the Wiki spaces as well as discussion board especially designed for this course, I tried to  figure out how positively have I participated in the class. If not, discovering main factors what made me unable to participate it in are the main topic of this paper. Having more than ten years of English classes in Korea was not both effective and efficient. Since its teacher-centered and text-based classes only focused on improving receptive language such as reading and grammar. Of course, the ability of speaking and writing which represents productive language comparatively not improved. As an alternative plan for English education for Koreans is Communicative Language Teaching which is usually used in a short form of it, CLT.

Of course, the ability to speak and write which represents productive language comparatively not ibeing mproved. As(cannot think of any other word....) an alternative plan for English education for Koreans is Communicative Language Teaching is usually shortened as CLT.

Their teacher-centered and text-based classes focused only on improving the passive language skills of reading and listening, while the abilities to speak and write, which represent productive language, are comparatively unimproved. An alternative plan for English education for Koreans is Communicative Language Teaching (CLT).

The passive language skills are listening and reading. The active language skills are speaking and writing. If you wish to compare e.g. grammar study and vocabulary memorization against communicative speaking and listening practice, then you are speaking of 'language learning' vs 'language acquisition'.
