The four pictures above vividly portrait the life of an old man. Although the house is equipped with modern and convenient facilities, she seems obsessed with the old living mode. She washes her face with a basin of water rather than the sink . She uses the bathtub to rinse her feet.. To our amazement ,In the 3^rd picture ,the old man does the laundry manually, even if there is an washing machine available .
Such an odd phenomenon can be accounted for from many perspectives. Firstly , the elder people might lack the relevant knowledge to operate the new inventions. Secondly , they might consider those new novelties are not as good as other people think. The bathtub is a luxury thing and waste much water .The toilet seat is dirty since it may be polluted by others. But most important of all ,they are reluctant to remove their old habits. A person finds it hard to lie in a bathtub if he used to taking a shower and considers a western toilet extremely uncomfortable if he has been using a Chinese toilet.
An old Chinese saying goes like this : it is easy to move a mountain while it is hard to change a person’s nature. For some habist ,it does not matter whether we change them or not .However , we need to push us to eliminate some wicked habits and only in this way can we free the bondage of the past and savor the sweetness of a new life.
