As a consequence, we gain the knowledge of different cultures around the world.
In the last decades, some experts have realized of some technological results that have also bad and destructive consequences. In the 70-80’s decade, the number of these bad results has augmented and their troubles have reached the public opinion. The experts highlighted, between other dangers, that the cars and machinery are contaminating the atmosphere, as well as the global resources has been used more than we should, that pesticides like DDT threaten the food chain and that the mineral remainders of a wide variety of mineral resources from the industries are contaminating the water reserves underneath the earth. Scientists have found that the seas have already absorbed about half of all the carbon dioxide emitted by humanity since the start of the industrial revolution, a staggering 500 billion tons of it. This has so far helped slow global warming – which would have accelerated even faster if all this pollution had stayed in the atmosphere, already causing catastrophe – but at an increasingly severe cost.
The report published by the official Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), where top scientists and their governments from all over the world, agreed and predicts that ‘nearly a third of the world's species could be driven to extinction as the world warms up, and that harvests will be cut dramatically across the world’. It concludes that emissions of carbon dioxide – the main cause of global warming – have already increased the acidity of ocean surface water by 30 per cent, and threaten to treble it by the end of the century.
In fact, technology has been a very useful tool for the human race developing. It has been a progress sign and backward movement because it has helped the human race to develop itself but as well it is destroying it in somehow. As an example, we can see the health advancements that help to save lives and the advancements in the military sector that helps to kill.
