Leaving Peru

Most people leave their countries for many economic reasons, political problems, religious persecution or sometimes just to fulfill a personal dream in their lives. Since I was a child, I knew that someday I would leave my country. I waited almost ten years for my Green Card in order to come to United States. However, when this moment came true, I was already a young lady.
When I left Peru, I endured many hardships in my life. I felt very sad because I thought that things might never be the same for me. I remember that beautiful day when I was in the airplane coming to the United States. My family stood by big windows and watched the airplane. I saw them, my aunt cried and suddenly everyone in my family was crying. My heart was pounding as fast as I was crying. I could not believe what I was doing in that airplane. It was one of the most difficult days of my life.
I had many thoughts in my mind. All these thoughts were about my future. I thought that there would be the day when I could come back. But sadly, I left my family - cousins, uncles, aunts, and my grandma. I never would forget every Christmas when all my family was together sharing delicious food and wonderful gifts. I also left my friends, neighbors, and my best friend, who was a good listener when I had problems or doubts.
I was happy to know this country well - people, customs, places, food and the new language -. It is one of the most popular countries in the entire world its the form of government, freedom, technological advances and many opportunities for people who want be better in their lives. These are some reasons why many immigrants want to stay here, so I could not lose this important opportunity in my life.
My first day in the United States was terrible because I did not know anything about my new city. I did not have any friends. All the people seemed strange to me. I did not understand anything about the new language. I had only some knowledge about it because I never spoke English in my country. I did not know how I was going to talk to people. I tried to understand it, but I could not. I felt like an invisible person. Finally, now I have almost a year-and-a half here trying to learn more everyday so I will have a good future. Everybody says I am learning fast in a short time. This is why I am proud of myself. All I need to do is follow my dreams doing my best effort so I make do it.
All the people have one or more important incidents in their lives. Some of them are unforgettable and have a special value in us. I came to United States to start a new life with a good future. I am doing all my best effort to achieve all my goals in my life. I think we can make all our dreams come true.
