I need help with an essay (correction)
Hello, I am a college student from Germany. I have to write an essay about my favourite child that I got to know during my volunteer work in a nursery school. I have to write in Past Tense. I am not very good in English and hope that someone can help me to correct my text.
During my summer break I volunteered in a multicultural nursery school that was located in so-called trouble hotspot.
I worked in a group with 25 children of 5 different Nationalities. It was a regular group with children between the ages of 3 and 6 years.
I did not have a favourite child in this group and there was no child that drove me crazy all the time, I got along with everyone and I spent equal time with each child in my group.
However, one of my tasks during this volunteer work was to watch one child several times very closely for a few minutes and then write some kind of result. During the first weeks I noticed a 4-year-old boy called Dominic which was very introverted. He did not speak at all and did not seem to be interested in spending time with the other children. I wanted to find out if he only acted like this during group-time so I watched him also during free-play and when his 6-year-old sister played with him. I found out that he needed his sister around him to get in touch with the other children and that he probably did not feel safe on his own. He was new to the group and probably just needed some more time to settle down.
Because I had watched him very closely I got to know him very well. I knew what he liked and what he did not like and I saw that he brought a toy from home every day but always kept it in his backpack instead of playing with it.
I think he noticed that I was interested in him even if I did not speak to him while I watched him. He soon spoke to me every morning and during group-time he sat next to me. I could convince him to play with the other kids and he even made some friends which made me really proud.

If you are studying childcare I'd leave out the part about no child driving you crazy all the time (as to me it suggests that particular kids do drive you crazy - and that's not a wise confession to make if you intend to work with them).
