I need help with a translation

I work in a publishing house and, even though it is not my normal duty, I have been asked to translate a text for a press release related to a book we are about to publish. (Usually we are served by a specialized agency for translations, but this time we have to do it on our own, because of lack of time and money).

So, you can read my translation of the text below. Could anyone who is English native speaker have a look at it and tell me whether it makes sense and suggest corrections or improvements? I would really appreciate it!!! I'm not including the original Italian text, I just need to know that my English text doesn't contain mistakes or non-sense...

The book is about a motorized bicycle used in Italy during the post-war period...

‘Il Cucciolo’: Ducati’s motorized bicycle, which put a whole country on the road

Some things leave a trace which is far beyond the value they are able to express. Il Cucciolo (The Puppy), the motorized bicycle which brought success to Ducati in the post-war period, is among them. As a product of lawyer Mr Aldo Farinelli’s programmatic ideas and industrial expert Mr Aldo Leoni’s ingenious intuitions, Il Cucciolo is rightly part of the history of Italian motorcycling and, above all, is one of the pillars of post-war social mobility in Italy, to a narrower extent in Europe and, in some sporadic cases, even in the world.

For twenty years Il Cucciolo represented a real social phenomenon. It allowed half of Italians to move more easily than ever before, it caught on even with upper classes, it helped people be on the move and rediscover enthusiasm for life after a war which had caused millions of deaths and unspeakable sufferance. Il Cucciolo helped the nation reconcile after dividing political struggles, meeting people’s absolute need for communication and social interaction.

Thanks to this creation, Ducati’s remarkable efforts were rewarded, as the firm expanded its market, providing secure employment to numerous workers and achieving considerable economic stability. With Il Cucciolo Ducati confirmed to tend to innovation and to be in the forefront of any field of its activity, always launching technologically relevant products, characterized by interesting commercial perspectives.

Not only does the book deal with important aspects of the history of Il Cucciolo, such as success, production, sporting achievements, races, social implications, as well as the technological evolution which brought to the design of current scooters, but it also provides a large amount of original material: technical files, advertising and even the score and the lyrics of a famous song by Angelini Orchestra’s musicians Gino Latilla and Carla Boni, whose portrait appears on the vehicle itself.
