I need help to write a letter to Taxation office to explain the reason of delay lodgement -URGENT HELP

Hello eveyone

My name is Bonnie and regard to negative background and Before that if you don't mind I need to tell you a bit of my story... My husband has a company and I am the one to look after his account but at the same time I am the Accountant employer from other company. The reason for me to delay the lodgement because since my company acquire Lehman Brother I am facing a very difficult time to worked. Most of time worked until 2am in the morning and that's the trigger of my liver failure and iron level are so low. When I decided to resigned but my company offer me to taking leave without paid. We never intend to avoid our tax obligation. Would be appreciate for your help to make any suggestion or correct my grammer for the following letter:

Dear Commissioner

I have received your letter dated 31 July 2009 for the overdue document. I also enclosed the change of company details for you to updated our account details for me.

I would like to expla the circustance of our situation even though all the reason behind are all personal.

My wife named Ngan Chan who normally look after my company accounts due to her health issue and the pressure from her company who worked for very long hours a day and I understand that is our responabilities to comply the tax regulation but please understand that we are not trying to avoid the tax obligation.

If possible, please extend our lodgement until the 31 August 2009?
