I need help to clarify this please

Can someone explain to me what are the different between these two sentences please.


I found (that) someone stole in my house when I got home.

I found (that) someone broke in my house when I got home.


Both acted as burglar right?

The second sentence is ungrammatical. It should be:


"I found (that) someone had broken into my house when I got home." (= The doors of my house were locked, and someone had come in through the windows or had jimmied the lock on one of the doors.)


The first sentence should be:


"Someone stole into my house when I wasn't there." (= The doors of my house were u
