I need help on an essay!!!!
hi, everyone. =)
I just read the short story "The Scarlet Ibis" and I have to write a short 200-250 word essay explaining the theme
( i said the underlined theme was that people suffer when others try to change them to be "normal" and also the story is about pride..)
What the author is trying to say about life and mankind and then we were supposed to take one of the following quotes and explain how it illuminates the theme.
*"there is within me (and with sadness I have watched it in others) a knot of cruelty borne by the stream of love, much as our blood somtimes bears the seed of our destruction."
**"Pride is a wonderful, terrible thing, a seed that bears two vines, life and deat."
***"Brother, Brother, dont leave me. Dont leave me!"

Does you college or university not have books on this subject? You would be best consulting those as opposed to asking people who have a rudimentary knowledge of this subject.
