I need Help correcting this sentence, please

Driving to the coast, the sun warmed my arms and legs as I anticipated my dinner with Julia Roberts.

How should this sentence be rewritten for grammatical correctness?

Thanks,

Kalei

Hi Kalei, Welcome to the forums. The grammatical problem is that "Driving to the coast" needs to modify the person driving, not the sun. If you want to start wth "Driving to the coast," then "I" needs to start the next clause.

  • The sentence tries to have too many things, though - your anticipation, the dinner, the warming sun, the drive...
  • it would be better broken up a little bit.

The problem is that the phrase 'driving to the coast' seems to modify 'the sun'. So, you need to reword it. eg
