Before

Sometimes therapy can prove to be futile. The patient may need more than what therapy alone can provide. As mentioned before, each therapist has different techniques to communicate with a child. Some parents may not feel one therapist provide the help their child may need. As a result, the parents may therapist-hop in search of the right therapist. Parents also stop therapy all together, which is not a wise decision. In doing so, parents do not allow for techniques to be implemented. Therapist-hopping and stopping therapy may cause a child to regress versus improve their mental state.

After

Sometimes therapy can prove to be futile. Realistically, some patients need more than what therapy alone can provide. For example, some patients may resist treatment, while others go, to sessions, but to no avail. Several parents may also not feel a therapist could provide the help their child may need. Consequently, the same parents may “therapist-hop” in search of a therapist that they feel is right for their child. Unwisely, there are parents that may stop therapy altogether. In doing so, parents do not allow for techniques to be implemented. Therapist-hopping and stopping therapy may also cause a child to regress versus improve their mental state.
