"I need (a place) where I can take a rest."?

Q1. "I need a place where I can take a rest." is a correct sentence, right?

Then, how about this one? "I need a place where I can take a rest."

Is this still correct, or wrong? If wrong, can you tell me what the reason is?

Q2. "The quantified self suggests the digital capture of every human sense and action, from heart rate and blush response to emotinal fluency and activity tracking." (Sorry for "no context")

1) What is "to" here? Is it a "to" as in "from A to B"? or as in "response to ~"?

2) What does "emotional fulency" mean here?

3) What does "activity tracking" mean here?

I need a place where I can take rest.

This sounds natural.

Rest is uncountable noun so a rest sounds odd.

This is possible but wordy. Many native speakers would not include the yellow part.
