I mean for him/service-motivated

Hi

One night, after a year of constant togetherness, I asked Patrick what kind of future he saw: I meant for him more than for us. It might have been a sensitive question or may have hit a sore spot. He was not fulfilled in his job. He seemed to be more artistic than service-motivated at the time, and I felt frustrated for him.

--- Does it mean she wanted to know about HIS future and not THEIR future? (for him more than for us)

--- Is it possible to say that someone is not service-motivated any more when he works with seriously ill people for example, and now wants to deal with art?

I think Patrick worked with mentally ill people.
