" i make my share of them " ???

hello my friends in englishforum.com
today , i 've read the McCain concession speech and i 've learned so much helpful english words from it .
But i can't understand some sentences in that speech, so can you help me to understand them ?

1-every candidate makes mistakes , and I'm i sure I made my share of them.
so what does "I made my share of them " mean ?

2- But that he managed to do so by inspiring the hopes of so many millions of Americans who had once wrongly believed that they had little at stake or little influence in the election of an American president is something I deeply admire and commend him for achieving.
