"I love you" "So do I"

"How I do love you!" said Christopher Robin.
"So do I", said Pooh.

In this conversation, does Pooh mean he likes himself, too, or he likes Christopher Robin, too?

Thank you.

Literally it means that Pooh loves himself too. You can interpret it two ways: either he meant it literally, or he got his words humorously mixed up and meant to say that he loved Christopher Robin (e.g. "I love you too"). I would tend towards the latter.

It's possible that the ambiguity itself, or Pooh's unawareness of it, is what makes the exchange somewhat humorous. Authors do not often write such things by accident.
