Can you please tell me if the sentence below is grammatical?

Some grammar books ( written by Koreans) say it is not grammarical while others it is.

No, it's not grammatical. In a rare situation, you may need to say

I listen to him knock on/at the door (every day, every week, ...).

Or, as it is happening:

I'm listening to him knocking on/at t
