I like the song we're hearing now.

Is the sentence correct?
I feel a bit strange about the use of the verb 'hear' in the progressive.

Thanks. What if 'hear' or 'can hear' was used in there?
Is there any difference in meaning or nuance?

Please put all relevant text within the message box, not in the subject line. It is difficult for subsequent readers of a thread to locate the item being discussed.

I like the song we're hearing now. (The song is playing and you are speaking about it while listening.)
I like the song we can hear now. (The song is either very difficult to distinguish from surrounding noise, or you are about to play the song, and say this as an introduction.)

Thank you very much, AlpheccaStars. Emotion: smile
I just wanted you to tell me about "I like the song we hear now."

I would not say that; I would use the progressive.

But for the past, I would say, "Did you like the song you heard in the doctor's office?"

In a conversation, "I like this song" would be fine.
