I like chocolate the best of all food(s)? "s" or no "s"?

Hello

I like chocolate the best of all food.
I like chocolate the best of all foods.

Which of the two sounds most natural? Should there be an "s" or not?

Thank you very much.

I agree. But from a grammatical point of view, would an "s" be necessary or not?

I think you could say it either way, because "food" can refer either to the whole category or to a specific type of food. I slightly prefer "foods," because it more closely resembles other possibilities, such as "I like cats the best of all animals."
