I know It be not true

I read the sentence :
"I say I love her , but In my heart of heart I know It be not true."

why did the writer use "I know It be not true" but not "I know It is not true"?

Two possibilities occur to me. He is writing in dialect, or he is inexpert. That is not standard English, and I don't think it ever was.

Two possibilities occur to me. He is writing in dialect, or he is inexpert. That is not standard English, and I don't think it ever was.

It's "heart of hearts", by the way.

The infinitive is the object of "know". It is a more poetic expression, less direct than "it is not true."
