I knew not what

Which are correct:

1-The writer who had written I knew not what books became the head of the writers' association.
2-The writer who had written I did not know what books became the head of the writers' association.
3-The writers regarding whom I did not know what books he had written became the head of the writers' association.

4-I did not know what books a wirter had written. That writer became the head fo the writers' association.

I think "1" is pejorative. (He had written God knows what books!)
"2" also seems pejorative to me.

"3" seems correct but convoluted.

Gratefully,
Navi.

Thank you Mr. Micawber.

Is "1" neutral or pejorative? Could it be used if the speaker has not judgement on the books in question?

Gratefully,
Navi.

The writer who had written I knew not what books became the head of the writers' association.

It is neutral. The speaker does not know the author, but it could be either the author's anonymity or the speaker's ignorance. Of course greater context should reveal whether the speaker is belittling the author.

Thank you very much Mr. Micawber.

I have one more question here.

a-The writer who had written I knew not how many books became the head of the writers' association.

This one has the same structure. Would you say it implies that the writer had written a great number of books, or would you say it is neutral?

Gratefullly,
Navi.
