Hi teachers,

Which of the below is the correct one?

1) In fact, I wanted to invite you to my party, but I knew that you wont be able to come

2) In fact, I wanted to invite you to my party, but I know that you wont be able to come

Both are a bit off. My suggestion: In fact, I wanted to invite you to my party but I knew that you wouldn't be able to come.
