Hello everybody.
I'm reading ' Little Women' and I face some words I can't find their meanings anywhere. Would you please help me?
I don't let the girls have coffee only once a week, accordin to your wish and keep em on plain wholesome vittles.
I Know vittles means food, but I am not sure about the whole sentence, does it mean I gave them healthy food?
In another part, Bet says, ' I didn't forget to cover the holders.' what do holders mean here? Candleholders?
And also in the following
The sleeves of my blue dress worn out and Meg put in new ones but the full front came wrong.
What does full front came wrong mean? Does it mean Meg turn over the front of the dress?
Thanks so much for the help ??.
