I just cleared out my old doubt on it .

I like this! You make clearing the mind seem like clearing out a cupboard or closet.

Anonymous is right:
"Can you help me make it sounds more normal?"
"Can you help me make it sound more normal?"

Compare:
It sounds more normal.

Thank you all. By the way, can I say "old doubtS on it"?

Hi guys,

I just cleared out my old doubt on it.

I have concerns about 'cleared out' and 'on'.

I'd say the usual verbs for 'doubt' here would be 'resolve a doubt / remove a doubt'.

And the usual preposition is 'doubt about something'.

eg 'I just resolved my old doubt about it'.

Best wishes, Clive

"I have concerns about 'cleared out' and 'on'."

I don't see any problems. I see it as a well-formed poetic phrase.
It's a great metaphor.

'doubts on'.
I have doubts on that topic.

'doubt about' is more common, but a poet is not restricted to the more common.

I read the original and was immediately struck by the poetic metaphor.

Hi,

Fair enough.

But I wonder if the writer intended to be poetic, or just wanted to use 'ordinary, everyday' English.

Perhaps he will let us know, if he reads this.

He did say earlier that he wanted it to be 'normal', whatever that means.

Well. Basically, I have no sense about the effect of my English wording. I just made this sentence off the top of my head. Of course, the first thing for me is trying to use normal and everyday English. But I do not refuse to be poetic for one or two times. LOL.

Thank all you guys.
