Hello everyone !

I'm Morrocan and I just watch the first episode of the season 2 of arrested development.
Here is my question : Tobias said, when he is painted in blue, " I just blue myself" ! I feel like it's something funny ! But i'm not really sure about which word of slang it is refering to ? Somebody could help to understand the funny meaning below that sentence ?
