Sure, I understand all of this, but as I'm trying to emulate an archaic style, I thought that 'myself' as opposed to 'me' sounds more more befitting to this style than simply 'me'. Was 'myself' used instead of 'me' in older styles of English?

Nope. I just read an old text online and I saw lots of 'to be' 'that which' 'know not' 'as being' 'that of' 'is/are to be' in the sentences. I associate this with older English. For example:

You know not of that which on this day is to be deemed by all as being that whose name is absent in my mind.

I see no problem writing like this, provided that those sentences are grammatically correct, which I believe they are.

It is my own style I have come to enjoy.
