I hope our paths never cross again..

Hi

I hope our paths never cross again, Mr. Bill; but if destiny has a way of its own, then it'll be you who'll do the walking.

Is this sentence natural? Also, does the speaker mean that if he and Mr. Bill run into each other at some point in time, it will be Mr. Bill who will walk up to him and start the conversation?

Thanks,

Tom

Thanks, Clive.

Let me give you the context:

The speaker and Mr. Bill had an argument at the latter's place -- and Mr. Bill asked the speaker to leave his house. It was at this time when the speaker said this:

I hope our paths never cross again....do the walking.

My interpretation remains the same. It's still a somewhat cryptic - maybe even melodramatic - remark.
