I hope I can / could meet you for an interview.

Hi,

Question:
Which sentence is more correct?

Sentence1:
I hope I can meet you for an interview.
Sentence2:
I hope I could meet you for an interview.

My opinion:
Sometimes, "could" is a polite version of "can".

However, one of the main considerations is the tense.
Present tense should be used.

Thanks
