I heard this on tv

Is the first sentence correct and natural? Is take the correct verb in the second sentence?

I am going back to economical model of car. I'm done driving a car that takes that much gas.

Thank you

You could say either "car" or "model" (I don't think you need to say both). But you need the article. As to the verb in the second part, "takes" is wrong because that suggests only how much gasoline the car tank holds, not how much it uses.
