Grammar

"I heard someone sing" or "I heard someone singing"

Which is correct?: "I heard someone sing" or "I heard someone singing". If both are correct, then what is the difference between them?

Thanks.

This is a good example of the simple vs. the continuous, keeping in mind that the continuous indicates an action going on at the time that something else happened. I heard someone sing the national anthem at the game last night.
