I have question about wish

Hi ,

I have this sentence :I wish people (stop) _______ fighting each other all the time.

I want to know if that sentence means in general that mean we need to write would+verb that is the formola?

Note that that is slightly colloquial (contracted as we would speak it) and the correct sentence should be:-
I wish that people would stop fighting each other all of the time.
