I have no free time?

Hello!

I have met such constructions:

"I have no free time" instead of "I don't have free time".

I haven't met the following in bold:

I don't have a computer. I have no a computer.

Is it correct? When can we use the construction "I have no" ?

Top answer

I have no computer is correct, without the indefinite article. The noun already has no as its determiner. You can only have one determiner per noun phrase.

  • I have no [noun] is just another way to say I don’t have a/any [noun].
