I have known Tom at least 10 years ago.

Dear all,

Please see the following sentence. I saw this sentence in a grammar book. I know that the word "ago" is not used with present perfect tense. Here my confusion is this : Tom is a friend of mine. I first met him in 2010. This is 2020. Still now we are friends. When I am telling someone about my friendship with Tom, I can't say "I knew Tom at least 10 years ago" because that sounds "I don't know him now". So how can I express the following idea by mentioning the duration. Enlighten me on this.

"I have known Tom at least 10 years ago."

Thank you.
