But it's okay because i have got the money for college

or

Hi, Both are OK. 'Have got' is more characteristic of speech, particularly informal speech. You need capital 'I'' s, and periods.

HI I'm from canada and here for me both are the same. However in written texts I'd probably use have insted of have got. Have got is more used in spoken language, and many times we say only I got with the idea of I've got.

But, we use it more in the affirmative..in negative and interrogative forms we use have with the auxiliary verb do/does don't/doesn't
