I have difficulty seeing

I wonder if anyone could help me as regards these formal expressions:

1. By default, ... (What does it mean?)

2. For discussion of this matter OR For a discussion of this matter?

3. I have difficulty to see OR I have difficulty seeing? (meaning: I have difficulty understanding)

Thank you very much.
