I have correctly used ‘home’ in the sentence, haven’t I? Or should I use ‘at home’ or ‘in the home’ instead?

I have correctly used ‘home’ in the sentence, haven’t I? Or should I use ‘at home’ or ‘in the home’ instead?

Well, it was last week when I was home having dinner with my parents and her parents. We were talking how we missed her.

I think the first sentence is OK. However, I would say "when I was having dinner at home with ... etc." instead. In the second, you need to insert "about" after "talking."
