Dear all,
I would like to ask one question. The other day I was told that "I have been to London last week" is incorrect but "I have been to London in the last week" is OK. But the past time marker "last week" is in both sentences. Past time marker is not supposed to use with present perfect tense. Please enlighten me on this.
Thank you.
cat navy 425 A past time marker is not supposed to be use d with (the) present perfect tense. 'in the last week' ~ 'during the last week' It's strange, I know, but these expressions are not considered as specific as just 'last week' with regard to time, so they are tolerated with the present perfect.
