I have been there myself.

Hi.

If someone tells me that he's just been fired, can I reply: "I have been there myself" to let him know that I too have tried to get fired and know exactly how it is? And would it be natural?

anonymous can I reply: "I have been there myself" Yes. anonymous to let him know that I too have tried to get fired But this doesn't make sense. Trying to get fired is not being fired, so if all you've ever done is tried to get fired, you have not "been there yourself".
