College is not only thing that Ana and Carmen argue about, self-esteem is other.(Shoul I use is other or is another?)

If I may correct your whole sentence: College is not the only thing that Ana and Carmen argue about, self-esteem is another . If there were only two topics of argument, you would use 'the other'.
