I have a question about answers

Hi teachers,
The context:
‘Why are we policemen, Adam?’
‘It’s a good job,’ Adam said, ‘And the money’s good.’

I know what are answers 2 and 3, but what about number 1; how can I call it?
Is there a name for that one, or it is just the answer to the information question according to the text?
What are Adam's reasons to be a policeman?'
1. (They are that) it's a good job and the money's good.
2. He said that it was a good job and the money was good. Reported Speech.
3. He said, ‘It’s a good job and the money’s good.’ Direct Speech.

Thanks in advance.

Hello, TL.

I'd simply call it a "direct answer".

Hello Surfer,
Thanks for your reply.
The, 'They are that', part it's optional. That is why I put it between parentheses.
