I have a problem to use first, second, etc.

I'm confused about the comma and full stop. This is my example.

Genre Writing Concept has 5 compositions. Firstly, the writer, is a person who writes the text.

I'm confused that I should put a comma or full stop after the writer.

Also, before the word is I should put a subject or not.
