It's possible in some contexts. Unless there is a later past-time reference somewhere, 'I rode ...' is the natural form.

With the Past Perfect tense, you need a context that involves some later event,
eg
Yesterday I bought a motorcycle. I had ridden a motorcycle once when I was 7 years old.
