I had a lot of sympathy

Would you correct my dictation?

I had a lot of sympathy for Victor. But I also thought him selfish and they’re responsible. Because he abandoned his daughter, my niece, Nicholina, without a backward glance. It was as though he simply forgot about it, forgot that she existed. Nicholina walked home from school that day and did her homework and waited for her father to turn up. There was no note, no sigh of anything out of the ordinary. Nicholina was thirteen.
