Yes, I would have done better to have described the events as either simultaneous or not. Instead I tried to indicate that by putting into the sentences 'then' and 'also' in blue as my comments.

But why is it so that that comma can't go after guess? I wanted to show a pause in how I thought after all! And didn't it separate two clauses there?
