I grew up well-removed from any big city.

I grew up well-removed from any big city.

In my book, I found the sentence and it says the expression means far away but there is no such meaning in any dictionary so do you agree with the definition? Or do you have any good idea? Thank you so much as usual in advance.

there is no such meaning in any dictionary'. I don't think you can have looked in them all, Anonymous. At least one of the dictionaries listed HERE defines 'removed' as 'distant in time or place' (Macmillan), so 'well-removed' means 'far away'.
