Hello,
Here's a small context. Jack and Rick are having a conversation. Jack's phone starts ringing and he goes out. When he comes back Rick asks him; "Is everything okay?" Jack says "Yes, I just got a call from my mom."
Is it natural to say "I got a call from my dad/mom/etc" instead of saying "My mom/dad called me up"?
