Grammar

"I forgot my phone again." or "I forget my phone again"

1-"I forgot my phone again."

2-"I forget my phone again."

Which is correct? Why? what is the difference in meaning? I have trouble using 'forget' and 'forgot'; I use 'forgot' all the time.

Thanks
